Much Ado About Shakespeare Act 2

The next place we visited on our holiday was Anne Hathaway's Cottage.
We wandered around the garden and orchard first.

Photograph of Mary Baker, one of the last people to live in the cottage
and the actual bonnet that she is wearing in the photo.

Heading back into Stratford-upon-Avon we purchased ice creams and looked around the town some more.

A visit to the Guild Chapel was recommended to us, to see the medieval wall paintings that were being uncovered.  Shakespeare's father, the then Chamberlain of the town, was ordered to cover up the paintings following the Reformation.

Time for a spot of tea at The Fourteas, recommended by my friend Deb.

Mine
and his! :)

The final place we went to that day was Shakespeare's Birthplace.

The Glover's Workshop.  John Shakespeare was a glove maker and sold his products out of the workshop window.

The Boy's Room where William and his brothers slept, whilst his sisters had a bedroom about the tavern room.

The room where it is believed that Shakespeare was born.

Downstairs there was a drinking parlour.
